Snuggle Puppy

If there is one thing my Toby is good at, it is snuggling!

At night he loves to get under the covers and has to be right next to you. I’m not really sure how a little 12-pound dog does it, but he tends to take up the whole bed.

Since dogs like schedules, he got in the habit of waking up with my at 5:30 a.m., going out and then going back to sleep in his crate while I left for work. When my hours got switched to a night shift last August, Toby just couldn’t get used to it.

He was still waking up at 5:30 a.m.

Nowadays, we got into a routine of waking up at 8:30 a.m., going out, him eating breakfast and then getting back into bed to get another half hour or so of shuteye.  (I swear he has an internal clock because it’s the same time every morning.)

As soon as he is done with his breakfast he sprints up the stairs to my room, jumps in bed — sometimes even if I’m not in it — and gets under the covers. When I get back in bed he usually cuddles in super close and if I even move a little he lets out a slightly annoyed sigh.

Can we say SPOILED PUPPY?!

It does make for some cute photos!

  1. Think Toby has it pretty darn good. You met Gracie yesterday at the parade. Another very fortunate dog with a crazy owner. Have a wonderful 4th!
