Welcome to a new feature on My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much — Adopt-a-Pet Friday!

As part of the BlogPaws initiative Be The Change, I want this site to help homeless animals, and while I have a larger plan in mind, I wanted to get started doing something now to help pets that need homes. So, while I happen to be cruising PetFinder I thought, why not at least link out to adoptable pets until I can hook up with a shelter and get the next step off the ground.

(Yes, I randomly peruse PetFinder when I’m bored or need a quick smile. Hey, some people browse CraigsList, I try to find cute pets to adopt… to each his own!)

 I’m not affiliated with any of these shelters, nor can I guarantee these pets are still available. But, I do know they look darn cute, and deserve a great home!

So, for the first installment of this weekly feature we have several dogs in three very different locations!

MEET STEWEY!
This adorable, light brown Chihuahua mix has the cutest face and pictures — including one where he has his tongue sticking out. He looks to be in Staten Island. N.Y. at Pluto Rescue.

MEET CHAMP!
This male Chihuahua mix looks like a miniature bear. He looks to be in Queensbury, N.Y. at the SPCA of Upstate New York.

MEET TOBY!
Yes, I was a little partial to this pup because he shares my dog’s name and his colorings are similar to my Toby’s, but he also sounds like a great outdoors dog! He is a 3-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix who likes to walk, jog and hike. (Hmm.. would it be bad to have two dogs names Toby? I’m truly in love with this pup!) It looks like he is in Linden, N.J. at the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter, Inc.
