Where Has Your Dog Been Kicked Out From?

We took some relatives on a sightseeing tour of the Adirondacks today. Our first stop after we left Lake George was the Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid. We got kicked out. Just as we were walking up to the outdoor complex, a woman came walking toward us explaining we couldn't go any further. I told her we were staying outside and she said it didn't matter dogs were not allowed. On our way out, we did notice the sign saying no dogs, but must have missed it on the way in. It took all of us by surprise because its an outdoor complex, and almost all the hotels in town are pet-friendly.So, while they lost out on our business, and we headed back to our car, I realized that in the 2 1/2 years we have had Toby, this was the first place we were ever asked to leave. It got me wondering: Where have you and your dog been kicked out of, and how did you handle it? Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

  1. When My Lily was a little puppy (2.5 pounds) we were in Yankee Candles in Deerfield Ma shopping the outside sidewalk sale and we were asked to leave by Security because no pets were allowed. I was alittle suprised that they asked us to leave since she was no bigger than a jar candle. We just left without saying anything, other than Sorry!

  2. Bailey was kicked out of doggie day care becaue she chewed through the telephone line while one of the employees was on the phone. We have not returned, mostly out of shame. 🙂

  3. Pru and I have been asked to leave an outdoor farm stand even though there were chickens running around as well as the owner's Shepard. We were told we couldn't go into a local garden supply store even though the employees often bring their dogs with them. Oh and we were also asked to leave our local post office that always changes its mind as to if it is dog friendly or not (i.e. Pru and I had been in there a few weeks previously with no incident).

  4. Marzipan and I were kicked out of a rest stop. It's always hard on road trips, because sometimes you need to stop to eat and use the restroom, and what are you supposed to do with your pups?? I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to bring her in as long as I was carrying her, but we swifly got booted! Now Bill and I have to take turns staying with the dogs while the other goes in. So annoying!
