Sigma Sigma Sigma Alumnae Help North Jersey Animal Shelter

People usually give me a funny look when I say that I’m still involved with my sorority’s alumnae chapter. But, what they fail to realize is all the great things the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma does — like collect items and donations every month for a charity or group in need.

My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much was so excited to learn the chapter’s latest group to benefit from their work was the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, which recently suffered a devastating flood. While all the animals were thankfully rescued, the flood really hurt their location, causing an immediate need for food, toys, bedding and other basic animal supplies.

When the chapter found out about what happened, they quickly changed their charity focus for September and collected the needed items — and with only about a week’s notice. It’s was pretty amazing to see everyone come together to help the animals effected.

They collected just about everything you can think of, from travel crates and beds to food, treats and toys.
