For someone who travels with their dog almost every weekend, I’m always looking for new products to make this task easier. So, I was really excited to try Sturdi Products’ SturdiBox.

In the past Toby’s portable water dishes have included everything from real dog dishes and plastic coated disposable cardboard ones to washed out plastic Chinese soup containers and a washed out Dunkin’ Donuts coffee cup. From the travel and kayaking, he’s actually learned to drink right out of a plastic water bottle.

That said, it would be nice to find something small and compact, but durable enough to be used for water and food when needed.

Enter the SturdiBox.

The two-cup foldable, box can hold liquids or solids and the 2-inch depth allows small dogs, (or cats) to easily reach in.

While it’s always easy to trow a dish in Toby’s travel bag, it’s not always so easy to keep one with you when you’re walking around a city, hiking or visiting an attraction.

What usually ends up happening is I take a water bottle with me for Toby to drink out of  and I’m the one left craving a sip of water.

With the SturdiBox, it will fit perfectly in my purse, backpack or even jacket pocket because it folds up so small, allowing me to take the same water bottle with me and just pour out what Toby will drink into the box and still be able to sip the water myself.

Last weekend, I put some water in the SturdiBox to test how well it held up and put it in the middle of the floor for Toby. He sipped some water, looked at me, grabbed it by the corner and dragged it over next to his food dish and took some more water.

Unfortunately, I was laughing so much I couldn’t take pictures or flip my camera to record fast enough. The box, however, didn’t leak, and I was able to dump the water, quickly wipe the inside with a paper towel and fold it up — making it perfect for travel.
