Dog Goody Grain Free Treats Review and Giveaway!

We do our fair share of product reviews, but this one was by far one of the funniest ones we’ve done, simply for the fact that Toby LOVED the treats so much and performed several antics that I couldn’t stop laughing.

This one was also different because instead of a company approaching us, I actually approached Dog Goody because I saw their product through a LinkedIn group, read over their website and thought it was really interesting.

Their treats are grain free, and made with farm fresh ingredients and have no fillers or additives. There is no grain, oat, rice, corn, wheat, soy, dairy or preservatives. We were sent their Chunky Chicken Chips, which contain roasted chickpea, chicken liver, sweet potato, plantain, broccoli, apple, blueberry, molasses and egg wash, as well well as their Bodacious Beef Bars, which contain roasted chickpea, beef liver, carrot, plantain, green bean, apple, blueberry, molasses and egg wash.

As I do with all reviews I put the two treat bags on the floor, and before I could open it so Toby could get a whiff of them, he immediately grabbed the beef bars and tried to open them with his mouth. When I tried to reach for the bag to help him, he whipped his head in the other direction and ran into one of the bedrooms as far away as he could get.

I continued to chase him around the house for about 10 minutes until I finally put down the camera, stopped laughing and grabbed him. Once I opened the bag, he seriously couldn’t get enough of these.

With all the talk, and controversy over dog food these days, I liked the idea of trying a grain free treat alternative. Some treats seem to bother Toby’s stomach, but these didn’t.

They were crunchy, so it was good for his teeth, but they were also healthy and seemed to be easy to digest. Plus, the ingredient list reads better than most human-grade snack bars.

Now for the fun part! Dog Goody will be sending one My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much reader a bag of their yummy treats! (Sorry, because of shipping costs, continental U.S. only)

  1. LuLu just lays on her side and plays dead when you put a sweater on her. She hates clothes SO much!

Those treats look awesome. Grain free AND chock full of wholesome ingredients, who could ask for more?

  2. My Rory usually does something every day that makes me laugh. As an Irish etter being silly comes naturally. 🙂 Todays laugh was when he dug in the snow to bring me a chunk of ice. Now he had to drop it a few times because it was cold but he still brought it to me. Oh, he loves to catch snowballs in mid air! Oh that and stealing my hat from the table and then throwing it in the air. Like I said he makes me smile every day.

  3. PS. It is hard to find a grain free treat that my Rory likes. He is such a picky eater and eats grain free (Taste of the wild) so I know he would love to try these treats.
