Hops, Bunnies and Backer

“Hops, Bunnies and Backer” — it almost sounds like a law firm, instead of the title for this post.

My apologies for today’s short post, and not announcing the winner of the Aussan Natural contest yet. It’s been an unexpectedly crazy week, but I promise we will announce a winner by the end of the weekend, and be back to regular posting Monday.

As you can see from the picture on the right, even Toby has had a stressful week and doesn’t want to get out of bed this morning.

This past Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was the H.H. Backer Pet Industry Spring Trade Show  in Atlantic City, N.J. We went on Wednesday and found some fun new products. You can see some of our photos from Backer in our Facebook album, but we will be highlighting some of the products we liked the most next week.

In addition to the regular Saturday Pet Blog Hop, there is also a virtual East Rabbit Adoptathon going on today. Now, before everyone starts barking at me for promoting rabbits as gifts for Easter, hear me out. I do not support, or suggest, giving a rabbit as an Easter present. But, lets face it, it happens. So, if someone who knows and understands the responsibilities of owning a rabbit wants to get one, I would rather them know there is the option of adoption than not have that knowledge. It also reminds people there are more than just dogs and cats in shelters that need homes!

On a fun note, we are testing out a Freezy Pups Kit this weekend, and will be giving one away to a lucky reader on Monday. This is a fun product and giveaway you will not want to miss!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Stopping by from the blog hop! Those freesy pups look adorable! My dogs love ice cubes, so I'm sure they would go nuts for these.

p.s. my bun was an Easter present that was given up to a shelter and we rescued him. I strongly agree with your statement about people needing to know how to care for a bun. They live long, eat a lot and need constant cleaning. However, if you are willing to put in the work, they are amazing pets. My bun suprises me everyday with what he can do and how loving he has become after a year with a stable and loving home. Think adoption before buying those little furballs at the pet store!

  2. You are so right! There are genuine people looking to own a pet, and what better way than to adopt from your local shelter. People gave up their pets usually out of ignorance, they do not know the commitment and time that goes into taking care of the pet they own and often do not bother to find out.Knowledge and awareness are always good.
