Stuff My Kong, Please!

There has been a quite a bit of change in our household recently, and when something isn’t “normal” Toby doesn’t always eat like he regularly does until he becomes accustom to whatever it is that has changed.

However, a treat he will scarf down in seconds.

So, this morning I decided that to get him to eat his regular food, I would stuff it in his Kong with a little bit of peanut butter. It’s a good way for him to get his nutrition, while thinking he’s getting a treat and exercising his brain.

I took a little peanut butter an smeared it around the inside of the Kong, put in some pieces of his food and then “sealed” it with a little more peanut butter.

Needless to say, Toby couldn’t wait to get his paws on this, and ate it all up!

My only hope? He doesn’t get too used to this food-in-his-Kong thing.

What are some creative ways you get your dog to eat?

  1. Toby is so cute! He reminds me of a little fox.

My Oscar has an insatiable appetite, so he doesn't need much motivation to scarf down his meals, but I do like to put food in his Kong occasionally to make him "work" for his food. I'm thinking about purchasing a Kong Wobbler just to give him another food puzzle to solve. 🙂
