Last night was the first time in weeks Toby slept through the night. Ahhh.. it was so nice! No waking up at 4:40 a.m. to go out, get a drink of water or nibble on a snack. He slept right through.
I can’t even begin to tell you how nice it was!

Toby at 4 a.m. a few weeks ago. |
For the past month or so, Toby has been waking up in the middle of the night wanting to either go out side, go downstairs or eat. It’s usually somewhere between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., and on mornings when I have to go to work the next day.
He even did it Sunday night when my aunt stayed over Christmas night. We came back in from outside at 5 a.m. and ran over and licked her nose!
I always take him out at night between 11 p.m. and midnight before I go to bed, so he really shouldn’t have to do anything overnight. Last night I decided to give him a treat around 10:30 p.m. figuring if he gets up because he’s hungry, that might nix that.
We’re going to the vet for his yearly exam on Thursday morning, so I’ll be talking to him about it then, but any suggestions on how to combat this, would be helpful. I’m a little out of ideas.
I have bowls upstairs in our bedroom for,Billy. I put out a bit of food and water. I also have puppy training pads in both bathrooms upstairs so he can go at night. I feel him get up but he doesn't really wake me up unless he wants to play.

I cant be of any help really on this one because we have a doggie door and the dogs come and go as we please, I did started feeding them more at dinner so I could sleep in though.
What a cute dog! I think the dog is needing out a lot. I hope the vet will give you some help
awww little Toby is so cute!
Madison is now in the habit of getting me up at 4:00AM for feeding one, feeding two comes at 6:00AM. I wish I had tips for you, I am such a sucker, I just get up. Abigail of course follows his lead, so….. early to bed for me! LOL
what is the latest that you give him water? Maybe cut him off from water at about 10pm (or earlier)…did it start around the time of the time change? Maybe that has something to do with it?
Mine are lazy and sleeeeeeeeeeeep all day and night
Stop on by for a visit
