Saturday Morning Errands

I might have played a little trick on Toby this morning, but it certainly was deliberate. We hopped in the car to go over to the bagel place and pick up some hot, crusty carbs when I remembered I needed more Frontline.

Detour!

Well, that detour, I think, freaked Toby out a little. As soon as I headed on the highway toward “Uncle Ira’s” {code word for Toby’s vet} he started to get stiff, pant, put his ears back and his overall attitude changed.  I kept assuring him he wasn’t going in and I was just picking up something, but I don’t think it helped him so much.

You should have heard him barking when I got out of the car at Uncle Ira’s — you would have thought someone was killing him. Once I got back in the car about 10 minutes later, he finally calmed down, and as soon as I made the turn toward the bagel place, he snuggled into the seat and chilled out.

Isn’t it amazing how dogs can tell these things?!

  1. Hi Y'all,

I had a REAL vet appointment today! It all turned out alright in the end.

Just hopped by to catch up on your happenings and say hello! Have a great weekend!

    Y'all come by now,

  2. All my dogs know the exit off the highway for the vet, The other day I took one of them to the park off the same exit and he never stopped looking anxious about our location. Relief did not set in till we were taking the exit off the highway to come back home.

  3. Aww, poor little Tob-ster. Bella would have done the same thing. But look on the bright side, you just gave him a great training session of – going to the vet's place doesn't necessarily mean anything bad is going to happen. 🙂
