Celebrating National Dog Day Adirondacks Style

National Dog Day may be celebrated Aug. 26, but in my house you would think everyday was National Dog Day.

Nonetheless, Toby did get a special treat this weekend to celebrate — boating on Lake George. Anyone who reads this website, follows us on Twitter, Facebook, Tout, Instagram {search mmaskaly}, knows that we go kayaking all the time, but it’s rare that we are ever on a boat cruising up and down the 32-mile lake that Thomas Jefferson called, “without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw.”

But, that’s exactly what we did yesterday.

He got to take a dip in the water.

Eat fresh carrots during a little lake-side picnic.

We literally spent the whole day on the boat 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. And, Toby was exhausted! We came home and he passed out.

Hope you and your pet are enjoying National Dog Day as much as we have been! 🙂

  2. Now that looks the most fab way to spend the day, wish we had been there too 🙂

Sorry we haven't been around, we've been in sunny France with limited internet, just about managed to update the blog but not read much of anything else, looooaads now to catch up on 🙂

  3. Toby looks like he's having fun on the boat! And what a healthy picnic too. We were close…up in Queensbury on Friday. I wish we'd had time to stop by and said hello! One of these days for sure. Maybe at the world's largest garage sale in Warrensburgh?!
