If Toby getting an incurable cancer at such a young age taught me anything, it’s that there isn’t always time to do all the stuff you want to do. There were so many things I wanted to do with him, but always put off because of money, or work, or timing, or the time it would take, or the silliness of it. I could go on and on with the excuses.
I’ve always thought it would be so fun to visit all the MLB stadiums, and have been working on checking them off my list. But, since Maddux is named after Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux of the Atlanta Braves, I thought it would be fun to make bucket list of sorts for him and take him to all the stadiums that host a dog-friendly game!
We start this weekend with a Nationals game in Washington, D.C.!
There are a decent amount of ballparks who host these games, and they are scattered across the country, so it’s going to take a while to complete and it won’t be a cheap bucket list, but I’m hoping we make some amazing memories and meet some fun people along the way. I’m hoping that as we cross ones off our list, new ballparks will join the dog-friendly game movement and Maddux will get to visit all the stadiums.
As you can see, to prepare for our adventure, I got Maddux his own jersey. Make sure you are following us on Instagram and Facebook so you can follow us this weekend. Links are on the side of our page, or if you’re on a mobile device, it should be all the way at the bottom of this page. Oh, and since I did try to order Maddux an authentic Maddux jersey, but we couldn’t get the size correct, instead Bear ended up with one, too.
