Wordless Wednesday: No Power

Hello Pals,

This is a sorta Wordless Wednesday, because we wanted to give everyone a quick post-Hurricane Sandy update.

The good news is that we are all OK and have no damage. We were very lucky, and I never want to go through a storm like that again. The bad news is we have been without power since the night of the storm on Oct. 29. We do have hot water, and are sharing a generator which we use to heat the house for a few hours during the day and to keep the fridge cold, because with the gas issues, you can’t run it all the time. What we are worried about is the storm expected today. Since we have no power, our sump pump isn’t working and the basement floods when it rains.

They say we should get power back hopefully on Friday, but if not then, it will be another week. We are very happy we have a house to be cold in — many others near us were not as fortunate.

The power outage has made for some cute photos of Toby that I’ve been sharing on our various social networks, because I take at least one a day.

Here are a few of my favorites:

(I’m posting directly from my phone so hopefully they all work!)

  1. Our paws are crossed, hoping you get power soon! We're supposed to have ours back by Friday too! We're very thankful that's our only problem! Your pictures are great, Toby looks like he's had enough!

  2. Awww, Toby, you could light up the room with power with your cute personality and sweet face. Driving by on the Wordless Wednesday BlogPaws blog hop from Fidose of Reality!

    1. Thanks. We are hoping to start posting again more soon. There have been some professional changes in my life, which will influence what we write about — but we will still be writing. I need to do a post on that sometime very soon.
