Hope everyone is having a fabulous Memorial Day! Remember to thank those who serve and have served to protect our country — including those on four legs. 🙂
We spent yesterday walking along the Delaware River on the D&R Canal in Pennsylvania. Toby was being a complete brat. Usually he loves to go for a walk, or hike. Not this time. He refused to walk. I tried everything, including bribing him with treats.
As you can see from the photo, Toby was very hot. So, maybe that played a part in it. He was panting so much we had to go back tot he car. I’d love to hear some of your tips in these situations.
In the meantime, here are some photo of what we saw.
If You Go:
Where: Delaware Canal State Park in Pennsylvania
The 60-mile towpath Parallels the Delaware River between Easton and Bristol. Beautiful water scenery is blended with closeup views of well-maintained houses along the path. Lots of cyclists, joggers and hikers. Very dog friendly.
My Tail Hurts Tips: Take time to check out the little towns both on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey sides. On the Pennsylvania side, there a several wineries near the river. Many are not dog-friendly, but worth a quick stop to pick up a bottle of wine to have after a long day of being outside.
